Preschool Party Games

Party games do not have to be complicated or require expensive supplies or work. Try some of these fun and classic games at your child’s next party.

Cotton Balls: Provide one bowl filled with cotton balls and one empty bowl. Sit the child in front of the bowls and blindfold her. Then give her a large spoon and have her scoop the cotton balls from one bowl to another.

Tallest to Shortest: Have the children stand in a circle holding hands. Then say “Go!” and the children let go of each other’s hands and try to get in line from tallest to shortest as quickly as possible.

Pin the Tail on the Donkey: You cannot leave out this classic. You can purchase a pin the tail on the donkey set from a party store. The game is fun yet simple. Just blindfold a child, give him the tail, spin, him, around and then see if he can pin the tail in the right place.

Piñata Time: Piñatas are always a treat. You will need a blindfold and a stick or something to break the piñata. Just blindfold the child, spin him around, and let him try to break open the piñata.

Ping Pong Blow Ball: Divide the children up into teams. Each player tries to finish a simple race course by moving a ping pong ball by blowing it with a straw. This game causes a ton of laughter and will take up a fair amount of time.

Musical Chairs: Another classic but always a fun game for a party. Just set up chairs in a circle and have the children walk around slowly while the music plays. Stop the music and allow the children to race to sit down. The person left standing must leave the playing area and is out. Always make sure there is one less chair then children walking around.
