One great aspect of Primary is that each week a different child gets to give a talk. This is great because it allows children to become accustomed to public speaking at a young age. It is also fun just to hear the cute things that kids say. One difficult thing is to come up with ideas for your children to talk about. Here are five ideas for Primary talks.
1) The easiest topic is to simply choose the theme for sharing time that month. You can find a scripture story about the topic or you can share a personal or family experience that illustrates the theme for the month.
2) Another great topic is to share a missionary experience that your child has had with someone else. This could be a family experience or a time when your child was able to share the gospel at school with a friend. You may want to share an experience from an older brother or sister who is on a mission.
3) You could have your child share their favorite scripture story. This is an easy topic to find a visual aid for because you can use pictures from the gospel art kit or find many of the stories with flannel board figures.
4) If your child was recently baptized you may want to have him share the experience with the rest of the Primary. You could expand this into a talk on how to prepare to be baptized as well.
5) You can have your child choose an area where they want to improve (personal scripture study, or prayer) and give a talk about the importance of that subject.

The best talks come from the heart, and so allow your child to write the talk himself (if he is old enough) or help you to write the talk. I think allowing her to pick the subject herself is also very important.
