The theme for sharing time this month is “My faith in Jesus Christ grows when I know He is my Savior and Redeemer.” This is a great theme for this month because it coincides with Easter. You should be able to reinforce this theme as you teach your children about Easter this month.
This month the scripture to focus on is John 3:16. If you have older children you may want to encourage them to memorize the scripture. You should read it several times with your children and discuss the meaning of it. It is important for the children to realize the divine mission of Jesus Christ and how it is essential for our salvation.
The theme covers that Jesus Christ came to Earth to do the Father’s will. The theme also shares the story of the Atonement and Resurrection. It points out that we will each be resurrected because of the actions of Christ. It also covers the Atonement and the chance that we each have to repent. Finally the theme emphasizes that the prophet and the apostles purpose is to testify of the divinity of Christ.
You can easily work this theme into your lessons and discussions on Easter. You may want to have a special Easter family home evening. You can use the handout for the Friend to show who Christ appeared to once he was resurrected. You should also bear your testimony of the blessings of the Atonement and of the Resurrection.
The song for this month is “I Know that My Redeemer Lives” p 136 in “Hymns.” Since this is a hymn you may want to spend extra time on it this month. You can sing it at family home evening and at bedtime. One of the conference talks emphasized the importance of using the hymns and Primary songs in your home.
