I try to notice and look for things that other businesses and individuals do that I appreciate so that I can incorporate them into my home business. This is just one of the ways I attempt to bring new ideas and inspiration into my work. Maybe it is a form of “copying” but if someone gives me really great customer service or a business impresses me, I try to take note of it and see if I can use the same techniques. One of the things I am finding that dazzles is me is quick turn-around and promptness.
While I understand that we are all under a lot of pressure in this technologically advanced world we live in to be quick and immediate, and I am also one of those people who would really like to be able to take more time with some things, I have to admit that when someone gets back to me promptly or returns a call quickly or reacts with some speed—I get impressed. I am so used to some things languishing and calls NOT being returned, that when someone gives the prompt response, I sit up and take notice. And I am likely to remember that individual or business too.
Quick e-mail responses get me too. I love it when I do not have to wait and wonder. While I know that I cannot always answer every e-mail promptly and that some get lost altogether before I ever see them, I am trying to incorporate at least sending an acknowledgement as soon as possible so that the other party knows I am working on it. Of course, like many of us, I have a ways to go before I am a star in the quick turn-around department, but I sure know how much I appreciate it when someone does it for me.
