Do you have the time to spend hours on your makeup? I don’t. Here are some great tricks to make you look great in just a few minutes.
- Use blush to get a healthy glow. Pick a powder formula that isn’t too matte (matte blush can be dulling) or too shimmery (shiny blush won’t look natural). Pick a shade that looks natural with your skin tone. Use a big, fluffy brush to swirl color onto the center of each cheek.
- Use lotion or a specialty cream (like eye cream) to help smooth fine lines. If your skin is dry, every little line will show up more dramatically. If your skin is hydrated and supple, it will look smoother and healthier.
- A self tanner can even out your skin tone and do away with the need for concealer or foundation. Try a self tanner that is mostly moisturizer with a touch of tanner for a gradual and mistake-proof glow.
- Exfoliate your face to rub away dead, dull skin cells.
- Curl your eyelashes to make your eyes look bigger and brighter.
- Define your eyebrows with clear mascara. A quick swipe of clear mascara or Vaseline can help brighten up your whole face.
- Make your eyes look brighter with a concealer pencil or beige eyeliner. A subtle line on the inside of your eyes will make your eyes look bigger and more alert.
- Make your lips look fuller with a nude highlighter. Line your lips just above your Cupid’s bow — the curve of your upper lip.
- Make your lips look fuller with two-toned lip color. Use a shade darker lip pencil on the inner corners of your mouth; use a shade lighter lip gloss over your entire lips.
A few quick hair tricks can also make you look lovelier. Try a haircut with bangs to add style and drama to your face. Add lowlights — darker strands — instead of highlights to bring out your eye color and brighten your skin tone.
