There are always times in scrapbooking when you need a fast and fun way to display your photos. I have a few techniques that work well time and time again. Here are a few of my favorite techniques.
Place the photos right next to each other. This technique works well for a few reasons. First, it allows more space for more photos because you don’t have to allow for any space between the photos. It keeps the design clean and uncluttered. You also save time because you don’t have to mat any photos.
Paint the edges of your photos. This is a fun look that takes almost no time at all. This takes the place of matting the photo and helps the photo stand out on the page. For the following layout, I quickly painted around the edges of each of the photos. Even thought I included many photos on this layout, the paint around the edges helped to frame each photo and break up the layout. This helps the eye travel from photo to photo without getting lost on the page.
Sand the edges. If you don’t want to spend time painting the edges of your photos, you could use sandpaper to get a similar effect.
Overlap photos in a collage. I love to collage photos onto a page. This simply means placing one photo on the page and then continuing to add more photos and build out to the edges. You can overlap photos in the process to allow for more space for more photos. This is also a great way to hide any problem areas in a photo. You can simple cover up a distracting background that you don’t want to include in the layout.
Have fun with you pictures. Remember that they should be the focus on most of your layouts and should try to have some fun with them.
