The holidays will be here before you know it. Instead of breaking the budget to pay for your gifts, food, decorations, events, etc., why not make some quick cash. You’ll thank yourself in January.
Gather Your Gift Cards
Most of us have a few gift cards laying around. Now is the time to take advantage of that. Either use the gift cards to purchase the things you need for the holidays, or trade them for cash. There are many companies online who will pay you for your gift cards, and you can also sell them on Cragislist or Ebay.
Gather Old Jewelry
If you have any gold jewelry laying around that you don’ want anymore, you can trade it in for cash. Gold is doing pretty well at the moment. Just make sure that you go to a reputable dealer who has a store front.
Sending your gold through the mail can be risky. Often it is a scam, and other times you may not be able to negotiate for the price that you want to get.
Babysit
Around the holidays there are many parents looking for babysitting so they can go to events or just get some holiday shopping done. Put the word out that you are available. Announce it on Facebook, with your home and school association, at church and with the local Moms club.
You can also register on sites such as SitterCity, if you want to really turn it into a business.
Cook!
If you a a good cook, use that to our advantage. Let everyone know that you are willing to cook dinner or provide freezer meals during the busy holiday season. Decide whether you want to include delivery or have the person pick up the meals.
Another way to go is to put together baskets of breakfast food or baked goods that can be given as personal and corporate gifts.
