Many of you may not remember Jack Klugman, the star of the television series’ “The Odd Couple” and “Quincy M.E.” I used to love to watch “Quincy M.E.” growing up. During the late 70s/early 80s, “Quincy M.E.” was about as edgy a show as you could find on network television. In the show, Jack Klugman (who played Quincy) was sort of a combination between Hugh Laurie’s “House” and all three CSI teams combined. Each week, Quincy would examine a body, figure out something suspicious was going on, and then solve the crime – all within an hour!
Now, at the feisty age of 85, Jack is suing NBC Universal, saying the studio lied to him about the show’s profits. Jack is saying his 1976 contract enabled him to 25% of the show’s profits, yet he lost his copy when his agent died and NBC refuses to give him a copy of it. “Quincy M.E.” is still shown in reruns around the world and Jack said, “I don’t want their money. I want my money. I worked my tail off. I got up at four in the morning and stayed at the studio. I did rewrite, I edited.” Officials at NBC Universal had no comment on the lawsuit.
Now Madonna wants to save Britney. The singer, who exchanged a sleazy kiss with Britney at the 2003 MTV Music awards, has said of the media “They need to step off.” She followed it up with “For real…Let’s go save her.” I am pictured Madonna is a flowing white dress sitting atop a horse, galloping towards Britney to save her from the bad, bad media.
Maybe it is just me, but I just wonder if this comment is just a diversion to take the focus off the recent marital discord rumors that have been bothering Madonna and Guy Ritchie lately.
Another season of “Celebrity Apprentice” has ended and the winner is…Piers Morgan. Yes, that Piers Morgan, one of the judges of “America’s Got Talent.” Piers beat out country singer Trace Adkins by raising more money in a charity event.
As the winner, he gets $250,000 for his charity, the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund provides help to families of U.S. military personnel who had died it the line of duty. If you wonder why Brit Piers would be concerned about U.S. military, you should know that his brother served two tours of duty in Iraq and his brother-in-law served two tour of duty in Afghanistan. Well done old chap!
