Real Life Four Weddings and a Funeral

It’s been a busy few days for some of Tinseltown’s biggest stars.

The media frenzy has finally died down in Sydney, Australia, where Hollywood glamour queen Nicole Kidman wed country-singing superstar Keith Urban in a candlelight ceremony Sunday night. The newlyweds spent their first night as husband and wife in Sydney, then jetted off on their honeymoon Monday.

Meanwhile, less than 24 hours after they tied the knot, newlyweds Marcia Cross and Tom Mahoney picked up coffee in Pasadena. It was their first outing as husband and wife following their Saturday nuptials. The Desperate Housewives star wed her stockbroker beau in San Gabriel, California before 200 guests.

But Kidman and Cross were not the only ones promising to love and cherish until death do them part. Emmy-winning Medium star Patricia Arquette tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend, actor Thomas Jane, this past weekend at the Palazzo Contarini in Venice, Italy.

“It was a small, intimate celebration with close family,” says Arquette’s spokesperson. This is the second marriage for both. (Arquette was also wed to Nicolas Cage.) The couple got engaged in 2002 and have a 3-year-old daughter, Harlow Olivia Calliope.

The fourth star taking the trip down the aisle was Wyatt Earp” star Hugh O’Brian. The 81-year-old actor married for the first time in what is being described as “a wedding to die for.” The weekend ceremony was held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park (a famed L.A. cemetery).

“This is my first, and most definitely, my last trip down the aisle,” O’Brian said in a statement announcing his marriage Sunday afternoon to his girlfriend of 18 years, teacher Virginia Barber, 54.

You may remember O’Brian as television’s tough Old West marshal on “The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp,” which aired from 1955 to 1961. In addition, he has appeared on dozens of shows over the years including “The Love Boat,” “Murder, She Wrote,” “Fantasy Island,” “L.A. Law,” and “Charlie’s Angels.”

On a somber note, on Sunday a private burial service took place for Aaron Spelling, the television producer of such shows as “Dynasty,” “Love Boat” and “Beverly Hills 90210” who died last week at 83.

The family-only graveside service was attended by widow Candy, son Randy, daughter Tori and brother Spelling’s brother, Danny. Expect to see a lot of stars turn out (many of whom Spelling hired) to pay tribute to the legendary producer during an entertainment industry memorial service set to take place next month.

On Monday, Heather Locklear, star of Spelling’s “Melrose Place,” said she was sad to hear of Spelling’s death, adding: “He called me his lucky penny (because Spelling shows she was in were hits) but I am the lucky one because he graced me with his encouragement and talent.”
