Good evening, I’ve talked before about wishing we could take a course in relationships 101 while we are in school. We here at the marriage blog offer our insights and experiences with relationships, marriage and more – so you might look at us as a version of relationships 101. So let’s talk about what you might want to see here as covered by relationships.
Marriage Counseling
You might want to see articles on marriage counseling and what problems couples can sort out there. Articles on marriage counseling should also talk about what you need to look for in a counselor. We’ve done that – talked about counseling, counselors, types of counseling and when you are interviewing a counselor, what you need to know.
Dating
Before there is marriage, there is dating and relationship building. We need to talk about what it’s like to go on a date and what you can expect from the dating portion of your relationship. We talk about the types of things you can do on dates and also what it’s like to set up a date with your spouse – in our world of being too busy all the time – sometimes we need date nights with our spouses to keep relationship building.
Building Relationships
We talk about building relationships with our spouses, our stepfamilies and our in-laws. We talk about the need to maintain our external friendships and how to be parents together without sacrificing being married together. It’s important to remember that our children benefit from the success of our marriages. We offer that information here.
Wedding Planning
The wedding is the pivotal point in many relationships that take us from dating through engagement to actually becoming a married couple. Marriage is a commitment that takes us from our youth through our mid-life and into our golden years. If we are among the fortunate, who work diligently, we will be recalling our wedding day when we are playing with our grandchildren. And we do that too.
The marriage blog was born a little over a year ago now and as we go into our second full year of publication, we are looking forward to bringing you more articles to add to the repertoire of relationship 101 – and we can’t wait to hear what you have to say.
