One of the purposes of Enrichment night is to build unity between the sisters. It is important to plan activities that allow this to happen. You can still have classes and special guest speakers and still have time set aside for the women to spend time socializing. Here are five easy ways to do this.
1) Service projects are generally a wonderful activity that allows the sisters a chance to talk to each other. You can tie quilts for babies, make pillows for breast cancer patients, put together hygiene kits for the church or your local shelter. These ideas allow the women to work while talking.
2) Planning a dinner with a guest speaker is another great way to allow women the chance to socialize together. The women can talk together during dinner, and then be spiritually uplifted afterwards. Although dinners do take a little extra work, they are always worth the extra effort.
3) An easy way to have some time socializing is to have refreshments at the end of the activity. This encourages the women to stay after and talk for a bit, but it also allows the women to leave when they need to for their family.
4) You can plan a specific get to know you activity. This is a fun activity where you play games, and spend time talking. You can play the corny get to know you games that we all love or have people share random facts about themselves. It is an easy way to build friendships and unity.
5) If you are having classes taught, you can plan for classes to be more hands on. This allows the women an opportunity to talk while they are completing an activity. This can make the classes more interesting and fun. For example we had a class on massage once, and we learned from a massage therapist techniques to help make massages more effective. The class was interactive, because we practiced on each other.
