If you are trying to organize Enrichment groups you may consider organize a few health related ones. It is often difficult to find time to exercise, and unless you are paying for classes, it can be easy to brush aside exercise. Many of the women would enjoy having an exercise group, because it would give them motivation to exercise more often, as well as make it a more social event. Here are a few ideas for exercise groups.
1) You may want to have a walking group. This is a great form of exercise and it really is more fun to walk with a friend or group of friends. Moms can walk with their children (in strollers). This group could be planned during the day or in the evening. Many women are reluctant to walk or jog on their own. You may want to have a group of joggers that meet together as well.
2) You can also organize an aerobics exercise group that meets in the morning before the husbands head off to work. These work best around six in the morning. Often mothers who have children in seminary find that this is a good use of the time spent waiting at church. You can also plan that this group meets in the evenings. If you are doing an early morning group you could offer it more than once a week, according to interest.
3) Another great group is a yoga or Pilates group. These are great forms of exercise that help to strengthen the body and relieve stress. You will need to find someone who can lead these exercises correctly.
4) Finally you may consider having a healthy recipe exchange group once a month. This could be a daytime or an evening enrichment activity. You can have each person bring a sample and a recipe of a healthy recipe. You may also have guest speakers come and talk about the varying aspects of good nutrition for women and their families.
