This is one of the quickest sandwich bags possible. It took less than fifteen minutes to make this. Since my daughter and I both take lunch to work every day I will be making quite a few more of these and some of a different style, but first, the envelope sandwich bag.
Materials
12” x 12” square of fabric- any fabric, use your scraps- this will be the outside of your bag.
12” x12” piece cut from an old flannel backed plastic table cloth- this will be the inside of your bag.
3” piece of Velcro
Once you have the fabric cut out, put the two pieces right side together and sew around, leaving an opening for turning.
Trim the seams and corners and turn right side out. Sew the opening closed. I sewed a seam all the way around to close the opening and to give it a more finished look.
Sew the prickly side of the Velcro to one corner of the piece of outside fabric. Sew the fuzzy piece of Velcro to the table cloth piece on the opposite end.
That’s it! You are finished. Can’t get much quicker than that.
To use simply lay the fabric plastic side up in a diamond shape, lay your sandwich on, fold the sides over,
fold the bottom up and the top down.
Now your sandwich is ready to go. When you are ready to eat it just unfold and you have a nice little mat to lay your food on.
Since the inside is made from a plastic table cloth you can wipe it off with hot soapy water after use. Rinse well, let dry and it’s ready to reuse.
