Whether you are redecorating your bathroom or changing out your shower curtain because of wear, you might want to take advantage of that old shower curtain and use it in some new ways.
If your curtain is made out of fabric, you can reuse the fabric in so many ways, from turing it into a tablecloth to turning it into doll clothes. For plastic shower curtains and liners, here are some ideas that you can try.
First, before you reuse your shower curtain, you may want to wash and sterilize it.
One creative idea for an old shower curtain is to cut it up and make it into baby bibs. Sew on bias tape all around the edges and use it also for the neck ties. You can even fold up the bottom to make a handy food catcher.
An old shower curtain is very handy when used as a frugal drop cloth. Painting a bookcase, for example, will be much easier if you place it on top of an old shower curtain that will catch the paint drips.
Place the shower curtain on the floor for finger painting. It is wide enough so that any paint that might come off of the paper will catch on the shower curtain. The finger paint comes off easily for the next use. And while you are at it, you can turn an old shower curtain into a painting smock. Just cut out a large circle and then a smaller circle inside that one for your child’s head. Or, cut out a rectangle, with a circle for the head and then two arm holes.
Use an old shower curtain outdoors in the summer as a giant water slide! Have a hose nearby and place the curtain on a small hill or smooth down slope for the best results.
