Apparently being a wife, mother, and reality TV show star wasn’t enough for Tori Spelling. The actress recently revealed on her MySpace page that she is now an officially ordained minister. Spelling says she applied for her ordination online and her certificate “is in the mail.”
So why is the actress adding minister to her resume? The word diversifying comes to mind. Spelling says she was asked to officiate the same-sex “love” ceremony of a couple staying at Chateau La Rue, the bed and breakfast the former “90210” star runs with husband Dean McDermott on their Oxygen reality show “Tori & Dean Inn Love.”
“I was so honored when the couple asked me to officiate,” Spelling writes. “We did it on the front steps of the Chateau as 40 of their friends looked on seated in a lounge-like atmosphere. It was so beautiful as I united Tony and Dex as life partners in love.”
Spelling confesses she was “beyond nervous” while performing the ceremony.
“I’ve done live theater and presented at the Emmys and this by far was my scariest moment simply because they had bestowed such an honor upon me and I didn’t want to let them down,” Spelling writes.
The offspring of TV mogul Aaron Spelling, Tori says she made her debut as a minister a family affair. After the vows were exchanged, Spelling and McDermott hit the dance floor with their infant son Liam for what the actress called “a magical evening of pure love.”
I get the feeling music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs and his girlfriend of nearly a decade, Kim Porter, won’t be needing Spelling’s services. According to Diddy’s reps the couple has officially split.
As for reports that the mogul’s relationship with actress Sienna Miller caused a rift with Porter, Diddy’s rep says the rumors of a hook up between the rapper and Jude Law’s ex are “categorically untrue.” As for the chances Porter and Diddy may reunite some day… it’s not out of the question. You’ll recall, they broke up in 1999 and battled in court over child support for their son while Combs was dating Jennifer Lopez. Two years after Diddy split with Lopez he and Porter reconciled. In celebrity-ville anything is possible.
