Okay, perhaps “hate” is too strong a word to use in the title. But, almost all reviews I read of K-Fed’s performance at the Teen Choice Awards said that he was terrible. The best I could find was some reviewers that said he was not half bad. In my book, that is not exactly a glowing review.
In case you have no idea what I am talking about, Britney Spear’s husband, Kevin Federline, had his first televised singing appearance on the Teen Choice Awards. Now first off, why have K-Fed on a teen awards show? Is this man – who was living with a woman pregnant with his second child when left her for Britney Spears before the baby was born – the kind of role model we want for teens? But, I digress. Kevin, once a backup dancer for Britney, has decided he is a rapper. He performed the single “Lose Control” August 20 when the show aired on Fox. Hum, “Lose Control”…Eminem’s “Lose Yourself”…hum…
Anyhow, I could only stomach 30 seconds that I saw online, but to me that was enough. I would like to think that if he had been good, I could have admitted it. After all, I like hip-hop and rap music. But, as someone else put it, he seemed like Vanilla Ice Lite. It was just not good. He is like the Kato Kaelin of music.
His first album, “Playing with Fire” is set to hit the stores in October. Will people line up to get it? I would have to say no. With lyrics like “I’m a superstar! And I’m married to a superstar,” I think either Kevin is delusional or just been around too many “Yes” people. You cannot just “be” a superstar; you have to earn it somehow. And so far, I don’t think his music has earned him anything.
To me, the only thing Kevin Federline is qualified to do right now is continue to spend Britney’s money and impregnate women at an alarming rate.
