Be careful what you tell Rosie O’Donnell.
It’s a lesson Barbara Walters is learning the hard way.
Last week, the former “View” co-host joined Roseanne Barr on stage at a local New York City comedy club and sang like a canary divulging some of Walters’s most intimate secrets.
According to the New York Daily News, O’Donnell started off by telling the audience that contrary to popular belief, she was fired by the Emmy Award-winning journalist.
The truth finally comes out.
The revelation was a far cry from the glossy statement given by O’Donnell earlier this summer when she told the world that she and Walters mutually decided it would be best that she left her seat at the “Hot Topics” table before her contract was up.
According to the paper, the comedian also told the crowd (who came to see Barr perform and had no clue they would be privy to O’Donnell’s true confessions) that the ladies on “The View” wore earpieces. The outspoken former TV host went on to reveal that producers would use the devices to tell the co-hosts what to say. O’Donnell reportedly told the comedy club audience her refusal to wear an earpiece during her time on “The View” angered show producers.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a true Rosie rant if she stopped there. Staying true to herself O’Donnell took her confessional to parts unknown by sharing with a room full of strangers details about Barbara Walters’s sex life. The brazen actress unleashed a litany of shocking claims about what the legendary journalist does in her free time.
O’Donnell’s latest revelations come just a few weeks after parts of her new book “Celebrity Detox” were released. In those excerpts the comedian confessed that working with Walters was no fun and that the elderly journalist has passed her prime and should call it quits.
I get the feeling the standing invitation O’Donnell had to return to “The View” has been officially revoked.
