It would seem like an even match in the wrestling ring, but so far the battle between the two celebs has been more verbal than physical. Though, I wouldn’t rule anything out just yet. This war of words could easily erupt into something more.
For those of you who missed the first jab–it came from Hulk Hogan, the former wrestling superstar turned “American Gladiators” host. Hogan reportedly took aim at Rosie O’Donnell when TV reporters asked him which celebrity he’d most like to see in the ring with one of the show’s star wrestlers.
“Without a doubt Rosie O’Donnell,” Hogan said. “Somebody needs to shut that big mouth up.”
It didn’t take long for the former “View” co-host to respond. In true O’Donnell fashion she responded on her personal blog, though, minus her trademark haiku-style.
“Hulk Hogan, the wrestler guy, wants to pummel me. Isn’t that sweet, and wildly odd,” the comedian wrote.
Then, without missing a beat O’Donnell took a stab at her regular sparring partner, Donald Trump while insulting Hogan.
“It’s like a gang of gross guys, a club almost, old, dumb, white and on TV,” O’Donnell blogged.
Do I smell a tag-team match-up here? Hogan and Trump vs. O’Donnell and Hogan’s estranged wife.
NORMAN PLUS EVERT
On the opposite end of the pairing spectrum are sports legends Chris Evert and Greg Norman.
According to a South African newspaper, the pro tennis player and pro golfer are now officially engaged.
Evert told reporters Norman popped the question last week while they were traveling to South Africa from the United States.
As for the wedding details, the 52-year-old former wife of ski champ Andy Mill said no plans have been made.
Norman, who is also 52, declined to comment on the pending nuptials (can’t say that’s a very good sign) leading Evert to joke, “Why don’t you say something to them? Gee, you’re a big chicken!”
Evert and Norman both split from their respective spouses in the past year – Evert from her husband of 18 years, Mill, and Norman from his wife of 25 years, Laura.
