Rosie To Elisabeth: “You’re no friend of mine!”

Just in case you care… it doesn’t look like Rosie O’Donnell and Elisabeth Hasselbeck will be speaking to each other anytime soon. Make that—EVER… if you believe a 13-minute video that O’Donnell created to address rumors that have been flying since the two engaged in an on-air blow out last week.

On the video, which is featured on Rosie’s blog, she discusses the much talked about incident and vehemently denies she trashed her own dressing room following the verbal brawl, saying: “I’ve never trashed anything, frankly.”

However, the comedian and some-time actress does acknowledge that one of her “friends” at “The View” (reportedly a show producer) did in fact draw a moustache on a picture of Elisabeth that hung in “The View” studios. But, Rosie down played the doodling incident saying, “It was only one photo, people, and it was a magazine cut-out. It was a cute little joke on the way out.”

Rosie also uses the video to set the record straight about why she quit the show last week. According to Rosie, the final blow came when her face was shown side-by-side with Hasselbeck’s during their fight. “When I saw the split screen I knew it was over.” She said it made “The View” look like “The Jerry Springer Show.”

Now, about her relationship with Elisabeth… asked by a reader if Rosie “ever enjoyed Elisabeth,” she responded, “I can say this: I never tried harder to be friends with someone than I did with her, but I don’t think we ever got there.”

Some Rosie fans speculate that it was Elisabeth’s “fakeness” that Rosie couldn’t ignore. Asked if she has spoken to the former “Survivor” contestant since the on-air fight, Rosie said on the video: “She called and Kelli [Carpenter, Rosie’s partner] and her she spoke for a long time. I haven’t spoken to her and I probably won’t, and I think it’s just as well.”

Rosie’s video also revealed her true feelings about her place on the show—she said: “I was really just like a foster kid for a year. We considered adoption, but I didn’t really fit in with the family, and now it’s time for the foster kid to go back home.”

I find this all a bit ironic after viewing today’s show (which was taped days before the now notorious screaming match). This morning’s “View” showed Rosie and Elisabeth hugging and laughing after Rosie offered her Miami home to Elisabeth to use for a week-long vacation as a birthday gift.

How much do you want to bet that Elisabeth never sees the inside of any of Rosie’s homes—-ever.

Tomorrow’s live show should be interesting to say the least…
