Royal Return

He’s baaaack! Prince Harry has returned to British soil after serving time on the frontlines in Afghanistan.

The handsome royal was embraced by his brother Prince William and his father Prince Charles as he walked off the plane at the Royal Air Force Base Brize Norton, in Oxfordshire, 50 miles northwest of London.

Shortly after Harry disembarked from the plane his father told reporters: “It’s a great relief to see him home in one piece.”

Harry made it home safe and sound, but he’s back earlier than he expected. No thanks to the media representatives who went public with the information that the third in line to the British throne had been deployed with a squadron of light tanks in the desert close to the former Taliban stronghold of Musa Qaleh. (The British army took control of the area in December.) Prince Harry was reportedly working as a Spartan reconnaissance vehicle commander, in charge of a vehicle team supporting a joint U.S. and Afghan operation to seize control of the village of Kariz de Baba.

But that all came to a screeching halt once word got out regarding Harry’s whereabouts. Fearing the prince would become a prime target for Taliban fighters, military officials yanked him from the frontline and sent him back to England.

The move isn’t sitting well with the young prince who told reporters that he is looking forward to being deployed again so he can get another chance to prove himself in battle.

Prince Charles also expressed disappointment that Harry had to come home early.

“I feel particular frustration on his part that he was removed unexpectedly early because, apart from anything else, he had been looking forward to coming back with all the rest of his regiment,” Charles told reporters.

What’s your take on Harry’s early return? And what do you think about the media leaking the information on his location?
