Rush Limbaugh’s Thoughts on the Obama Administration and Caroline Kennedy Drops Out of the Senate Ra

Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh has already started in on Barack Obama and he has only been president for two days. Well, actually, I don’t listen to Limbaugh, but I am sure he has been talking trash about Obama for months now.

But now, Limbaugh is doing what he does best – causing controversy. Last week, Limbaugh was asked by a major print publication what his hope for the Obama presidency was.

What was Limbaugh’s response? The publication asked for 400 words, but Limbaugh told them he only needed our – “I hope he fails.” He went on to say, “Everybody thinks it’s outrageous to say. Look, even my staff, “Oh, you can’t do that.” Why not? Why is it any different, what’s new, what is unfair about my saying I hope liberalism fails? Liberalism is our problem. Liberalism is what’s gotten us dangerously close to the precipice here. Why do I want more of it? I don’t care what the Drive-By story is. I would be honored if the Drive-By Media headlined me all day long: “Limbaugh: I Hope Obama Fails.” Somebody’s gotta say it.”

You had to know that Rush Limbaugh would not be 100% behind Obama, but really – to say “I hope he fails?” I am a Republican, but I hope Obama succeeds at the tasks given to him. Why? Because I am an American and naturally, I want a better life for everyone in America. If Obama can bring this country together and out of a recession, why would I be against him? These are bad times and while I can appreciate Limbaugh’s zealot for the Republican Party at times, at least give Obama a chance. He was elected President and like it or not, we all need to stand behind him.

Caroline Kennedy seemed to be the frontrunner to take Senator Hillary Clinton’s post since Clinton has been chosen to serve as Secretary of State for the Obama administration. However, today, Kennedy issued a one-line statement that read “I informed Gov. Paterson today that for personal reasons I am withdrawing my name from consideration for the United States Senate.”

Right now, no one seems to know exactly what the personal reasons are. Kennedy has not held a public office, but her last name is certainly well respected in politics. Yet, some think that she realized she didn’t have the necessary experience. Some state that her whole campaign was disorganized from the start and one cannot help but wonder if the condition of her uncle, Ted Kennedy, has anything to do with the withdrawal. Ted Kennedy was diagnosed with brain cancer last May and suffered a seizure at the inauguration luncheon on Tuesday.
