And you thought divorces only affected the warring parties and their children…
In an example of just how far-reaching Mel Gibson’s split has become, consider the impact it has had on a woman named Oksana Kolesnikova. The married Russian classical pianist was mistakenly cited by numerous publications as the woman responsible for causing the demise of Mel Gibson’s 28-year-old marriage to his wife Robyn.
Only Kolesnikova has never met the movie star.
Apparently, several media sources who printed Kolesnikova’s name only got half their facts right. The alleged “mystery woman” photographed canoodling with Gibson on a beach near his Costa Rican home is reportedly named Oksana, but her last name is Pochepa.
Oksana Pochepa. Remember the name. Really. She wants you to.
In fact, the 24-year-old buxom dirty blonde is helping to make her moniker a household name by granting interviews to major media groups. Pochepa insists that she is responsible for carrying on an affair with the actor, which ultimately ended his nearly three-decade long marriage.
The Russian pop star also claims that she is “in love” with Gibson and is the half-naked woman he was photographed caressing on a Costa Rican beach last month.
Pochepa says, “This is serious and I hope that our union will be real and strong and long-lasting.”
She also maintains that the “Mad Max” star has a soft spot in his heart for her too.
“We are different people but Mel is a grown man and knows precisely what he wants and me too. I know what I want.”
Pochepa also addressed the mistaken identity issue in which professional pianist Oksana Kolesnikova was linked to Gibson.
Kolesnikova was forced to deny reports that she was behind the Gibson’s divorce.
She said, “I have no idea how this mistake has been made. I feel very upset. The only explanation is that the names Oksana have been confused. It is a very popular name in Russia.”
What a mess.
The Russian sexpot could be a crackpot for all we know and may not be the woman Gibson is embracing in the provocative photos. Regardless, it just goes to show how a single decision can create a dramatic domino effect.
