Jogging with your baby in tow is a great exercise workout. The additional jogging with the stroller will result in more calorie burning and set a good example for your growing child that fitness is important.
When jogging with a stroller there are some important safety rules that you should always take note of:
* Read up on and review the jogging strollers before you buy. Make sure that you are buying the right jogging stroller for you and your baby. Remember that safety is the most important issue when buying a jogging stroller.
* Packing your supplies requires thinking ahead. If you are taking a quick jog very few items are needed. If you and baby will be running a few miles it is a good idea to pack items for you and baby, such as water and a hand towel for mom. Baby items would include diapers, wipes, a snack, a small toy and a bottle.
* Be sure that your child is old enough to ride in the jogging stroller. Babies 6 months and under should not be riding in a jogging stroller. If you have the type of jogging stroller that has an adjustment for your car seat, however, that would be an exception if you are comfortable with it. You might just feel more comfortable though if you leave your baby at home with Dad while you jog for the first six months or so.
* Heed the weather. Make sure that the baby is protected when weather is not so ideal. Warm clothing should be worn in the cooler weather. Always make sure that your child has sunscreen on, no matter what the weather outside. If the weather is really nasty use a shield. These are sold for jogging strollers and will protect them from the wind and the rain.
