Score One for the Mama Bear

left

When was the last time you unleashed your inner Mama Bear?

Unless you are Caroline Ingalls, there’s a good chance you’ve let her roar on more than one occasion. Typically, moms turn from wise owls to angry bears when they feel their children are in danger and need protection.

Apparently, that’s what compelled Florida mom Felecia Phillips to go ballistic on a kid accused of bullying her son Terec Smith.

According to reports, when Terec told his mom he was being harassed by another kid, she escorted him to the school bus stop to confront the alleged bully. When she arrived, the 35-year-old mom reportedly overheard the boy in question talking about her son.

Witnesses say Phillips and the kid exchanged words outside of the bus before she allegedly pushed the 17-year-old bully in the face and “slammed” him to the ground. But, the confrontation didn’t end there. The angry Mama Bear then followed the boy onto the bus and continued to give him a lickin’.

The Mama Bear beat down was captured on the school bus’ surveillance camera before police came and arrested Phillips. She was charged with child abuse and trespassing.

Still, Phillips says she doesn’t regret channeling her inner Mama Bear. In fact, she says she’d do it again in a heartbeat, adding that her aggressive behavior doesn’t mean she is a bad person.

“I love kids. I don’t love a disrespectful child and that’s what he is,” Phillips told reporters referring to the boy who allegedly bullied her son.

By the way, Phillips’ son says he isn’t embarrassed that his mom’s physical altercation with his alleged bully is making headlines the world over.

“I feel great about it because I know a lot of people wish they had a mom that had their back because some parents when you tell them (you’ve been bullied) they just ignore it,” Terec told CNN.

In the end, Phillips says she feels her actions against her son’s bully are justified.

“That’s what they need,” Phillips told CNN. “A good, old fashion whooping. And we’re not able to do that because we end up in jail on child abuse charges.”

What do you think about this Mama Bear’s moves? Would you have done the same?
