Scrapbooking Your Weight Loss Changes

Did you hear that correctly? Did I say scrapbooking the changes you are employing in your life for your weight loss? Absolutely. And let me tell you why. For those who scrapbook, they are preserving not only memories but a detailed memoir of changes that occur in their lives of their subjects. The scrapbook you make about your child, for example, would detail the various changes in their lives from dance recitals to first steps to first vacations.

How Does This Affect Your Weight Loss?

We like to brag about our children’s accomplishments. We like to show off our own. Sometimes, we don’t even recognize our own accomplishments anymore because we are so busy focusing on the lives of everyone around us. If you scrapbook the changes you are making to your lifestyle, you are not only keeping a record of what you’ve managed to do but you are acknowledging how far you have come.

What do you put into your Weight Loss Scrapbook?

You can start with labels from favorite foods. Perhaps you can add photos of exercise equipment. You can jot down notes and landmarks in your journey. You can add your weight and your inches and document when they change. Imagine drawing pictures and collages that highlight the positive changes you’ve added into your diet. How about the label off a water bottle? What about a coupon from a food that you used to indulge in too much? How about adding some paper doll figures and dressing them up in the changing fashions you can now take advantage of?

If you have some slips or oopsies – add those in as well. This is a scrapbook that lets you brag about your personal changes. It serves as a constant reminder of the changes you are making in your daily life. It can encourage you to keep making the changes you want to make while applauding your success at the time.

What would you add to your lifestyle or weight loss scrapbook if you were to start it today? The first thing I’d put into mine is one of the little cup holders from Starbuck’s – highlighting that I’m no longer dependent on my daily mochas. I’d also add some fruit stickers from my favorites like Dole bananas and highlighting the addition of fruit to my diet.
