I was out shopping seasonal sales. First, I ventured into the Half off Halloween sale at the supercenter. I had no intention of buying a ton of candy but I did buy a bag of Twix. A big bag. It was just so cheap!
I also bought sacks of individually packaged Cheetos in Halloween packaging. The bags are smaller than the usual single serving bags, but they’re perfect for packing lunches. A pack has 30 bags and they were about $2.50 per pack on sale. That’s about eight cents per snack.
I picked up mini granola bars too, 18 count for just over a buck per bag, or about six cents each. Then, there were mini bags of Teddy Grahams. Same deal. We are so set for packing lunches for a while, and you just can’t beat deals like that, especially when you have four kids!
I went to a little local store where I picked up house slippers for my family. The price tags ran from $6 to $10 but they were 70% off. Apparently, they are leftover from last year and the store is making room for a new shipment. These slippers are new and perfectly cute and comfortable, and what a deal! I guess I should have grabbed myself a pair. I love slippers but I hate cold feet.
I also picked up a pair of khaki’s for my youngest at 75% off the already marked down price. They ended up costing me about $1.00.
At Dollar General, I found shampoo for 25% off and picked up some picnic-ware for ten cents per piece for next summer. I bought some pumpkin colored candles to place near the ceramic pumpkin. It’s cute and it works for Halloween or Thanksgiving. I’ll probably add something else to the display later, but for now, I thought I’d throw in some candles.
Apparently, it’s time to clear the candle aisle for new arrivals, because there were only two left in the color I wanted, and I got those for a dime apiece too.
You can find great stuff for your home and your family, during seasonal sales. Tomorrow, I’m going to see if I can find a new accent rug for my kitchen. I hear there’s a big sale going on!
