Seasonal Shop and Stay Vacation Packages

You couldn’t pay me to stand outside in the freezing cold in the hours following my Thanksgiving feast in order to score superduperschmooper Black Friday deals. However, I am not opposed to spending the night at a super fab hotel to scoop up amazing savings on holiday gifts.

Fortunately, now is the time of year when hotels and retailers partner up to entice holiday shoppers to save when they stay. If you live in and around, or you’re planning to visit Southern California between now and the end of the year, you are in for a real treat. Several San Diego area resorts are offering unbeatable shop and stay vacation packages that will help pad your wallet during the countdown to Christmas. Some of the most popular include:

Westin Gaslamp Quarter: From now through December 31, 2011, you can rake in red-hot savings by taking advantage of the hotel’s Macy’s Shopping Spree package. The deal includes one night of accommodations in a newly designed guestroom plus a $100 Macy’s gift card that you can use to buy holiday gifts for your loved ones… or yourself. Rates start at $179, plus tax.

US GRANT Hotel: The historic property has a deal for frugalistas that runs from Black Friday through December 31, 2011. Reserve the Bloomingdale’s Holiday Shopping package and you will get accommodations in a luxury room, a $100 Bloomingdale’s gift card, 10% shopping discount at Bloomingdale’s and a consultation with a Bloomingdale’s style professional, plus two complimentary cocktails in the hotel’s famous Grant Grill. Rates start at $229 per night, plus tax.

Andaz San Diego: The ultra-hip hotel has teamed up with a major department store so that you can save big from now through December 30, 2011. The Gaslamp Wonderland package includes one night of accommodations, plus a $50 Nordstrom gift card, as well as complimentary valet parking, and an adult hot chocolate amenity, handcrafted by executive chef Reese Hay of the hotel’s Quarter Kitchen restaurant. Rates start at $199 per night, plus tax.
