Good morning and welcome to September! It’s hard to believe we’re entering into the ninth month of the year. In fact, it’s rather startling to realize that my nephew will turn 1 this month. We still have another 23 days to go until his birthday, but has it really been a year since he was born?
If your baby is born today, here are some fun birthday facts for your September babies:
- Their birthstone is the sapphire
- Their flower is the Aster or the Morning Glory
- If born this year, they are born in the year of the Dog on the Chinese calendar
- Your baby will start kindergarten in 2011
- They will be old enough to drive in 2022
- They will finish high school in 2024
- They will likely graduate college in 2028
What does it mean for their birthstone to be the sapphire?
The sapphire is said to bring physical and emotional balance. The name is taken from the Greek word for blue: sapphirus. For priests, sapphires represent purity and for rulers, sapphires are symbols of wisdom. That doesn’t sound too bad, does it?
What does it mean for their flower to be the Morning Glory?
The Morning Glory blooms in the morning hours, but when the sun sets, the flower dies. Yet every morning, a brand new flower is born to the plant. The Morning Glory was known as asagao in Japan. In China, they believed it had powerful medicinal properties for cleansing. Beautiful and renewable – the Morning Glory is a tremendous story on the bounty of life. Did you know that about the Morning Glory?
What does it mean to be born in the Year of the Dog?
In Chinese astrology, the dog is faithful, loyal and honest. They have a strong code of ethics and they stick to them. The dog is very trustworthy, though they are wary themselves. Those born in the Year of the Dog are considered loyal and discreet friends as well as terrific listeners. Those born in the Year of the Dog are said to have a keen sense of what is right and what is wrong and they will tend to favor the underdog.
According to Chinese Astrology, the mantra of The Dog is: Live right, look out for the little people and fight injustice whenever possible.
That actually sounds kinda nice.
Do you have a September baby? Or is your baby due this month? I’d love to hear from you.
