“Sex and the City” Hawaiian Style

And you thought New York City was the only hot spot for “Sex and the City” travel deals.

Think again… the Aloha State is also getting in on the big screen action as well. Numerous lodgings in Hawaii are offering “Sex and the City” travel packages, including the Waikiki Parc Hotel. The popular hotel is celebrating girlfriend getaways with the launch of its 2008 “My Place – Waikiki Escape Package,” which offers an array of stylish pampering, shopping, dining, spa and leisure activities.

Guests who book the travel package will receive a “Cheers” welcome basket featuring a bottle of the hotel’s exclusive Parc Chic Wines upon arrival. Female guests will also have the option of soaking in Hawaii’s island life with private surf lessons for two; a GPS-guided tour of Oahu in a sexy Lotus; or surrendering to the luxury of SpaHalekulani, next door, for hour-long pampering for two.

Once the sun goes down, package recipients will receive VIP reservations at the upscale Nobu Waikiki. The hotel is also kicking in free admission to the Bishop Museum, the Contemporary Museum and the Honolulu Academy of Arts.

The three-night package is valid through December 20, 2008 and starts at $999 for a mountain-view room. Additional guests 18 and older will pay $80 per person per night; there is a four-person maximum.

Guests who are taking advantage of the girlfriend getaway this summer can also take in Waikiki Beach Walk’s “On the Lanai” event that runs through June 19th. The two-week festival features live entertainment, local food, drinks, cultural workshops and shopping specials.

The cultural workshops include free ukulele lessons, ipu-making sessions, and storytelling, plus lauhala weaving, and hula lessons. You can also tour bone and wood carving exhibits and learn how to string authentic Hawaiian lei.

The Waikiki Beach Walk is located adjacent to the Embassy Suites-Waikiki.
