Project my children did during Christmas time.
Shaving Cream Art is so much fun and so easy! You will be surprised how much fun your little one will have with this project. It is a messy, squishy, fun and color project that you will enjoy as much as your little one.
Shaving Cream Art
Supplies:
shaving cream
paint (tempera paint or food coloring)
cookie sheets
paper (cardstock recommended)
paper towels
craft sticks
Directions:
Squirt the shaving cream onto your aluminum tray or cookie sheet.
Spread it out as if you are frosting a cake. Make it at least a half inch thick.
Using a craft stick or your fingers (only if using washable paint NOT food coloring) and swirl it gently around. Be careful not to swirl it too much or it will turn into the same brown color you find in all Play Doh containers in any preschool or day care center near you.
Next, take your paper and press lightly on the shaving cream. Remove and dab lightly with paper towels.
Let dry.
Once dry you can add glitter, stickers, or whatever embellishments you desire.
Tips:
Use a toss away aluminum pan instead of a cookie sheet for easy clean up.
Cover your table or surface with a disposable plastic tablecloth.
Dress your child in play clothes or use an art smock or apron.
Wear and apron to avoid any messes on your own clothing as you will be working with paint and/or food coloring.
Cover your table with wax paper and tape down to protect your surface if you do not have a plastic table cloth.
Plan to do messy projects on sunny dry days so it can also be an outdoor project.
Special Use for Shaving Cream Art:
Greeting Cards: Once the paper is dry simply fold in half. Once dry you can embellish your card for whomever or whatever special occasion you desire.
