She’s Keeping the Ring

I’m not surprised.

In a previous blog I reported that Shayne Lamas and her British fiance from “The Bachelor: London Calling,” Matt Grant, decided to end their engagement.

No shock there given that most viewers didn’t buy that they were a couple from the start. Regardless, the question remained: What would happen to the 2.85-carat Tacori platinum-and-diamond eternity ring that Grant presented to Lamas on bended knee during the reality TV show’s season finale?

According to a new interview, the 22-year-old daughter of actor Lorenzo Lamas says she has every intention of keeping the ring.

Did anyone think she would do otherwise?

But, that’s not the end of the story. Not only is Lamas keeping the sparkler, she’s reportedly planning to create a permanent home for it in a special display case.

“I have it and I am going to keep it forever for the rest of my life,” Lamas told PEOPLE magazine in a recent interview. “It’s safe and clean and in a glass box like a glass slipper.”

Oh geez!

And if that’s not enough to make you gag, consider that the blonde wannabe model also revealed that she got Grant’s blessing to do so (why not… after all, he wasn’t the one who shelled out the money for the bling). According to Lamas, Grant plans to come over to her condo to look at it.

Yes, apparently, the two remain friends (with benefits?) despite their split.

And about the break-up, Lamas says she wants to set the record straight: She remained faithful to her fiance during their relationship.

“I did not cheat on Matt,” insists Lamas. “I would never, ever cheat on Matt. He was my fiancé.”

In regards to paparazzi shots showing her cavorting with a young businessman in Las Vegas last month, according to Lamas, she and Grant were no longer an item when those pictures were taken.

Oh! Well, I’m glad she cleared that up.
