Shopping Day Savings Passes

Did you know that you can walk into a large retail department store and save 10 to 30 percent just by asking. You won’t need to bring any coupons with you or know the manager personally. You can save this money thanks to a little known phenomena known as the Shopping Day Savings Pass.

What is a Shopping Day Savings Pass? A pass can be used just like a coupon. It can be used throughout the entire day with as many purchases as you would like to make. So, if you want to buy shoes, you can use your pass and get your discount. Then head over to housewares and pick up some new dishes, using the pass again. Go out to lunch, come back and make a few more purchases and get the discount once again.

Now, normally I don’t advocate such retail binges. But I recognize that there are certain times, such as around the holidays, when multiple retail purchases are made. Holiday shopping is a great time to take advantage of the Shopping Day Savings Pass. You are going to do your shopping anyway, so why not take advantage of the extra savings?

How do you get a Shopping Day Savings Pass? You just need to ask. You can do this with one store or multiple stores. When you first enter a store, head for the customer service department. Then just ask for a Shopping Day Savings Pass. Many times these passes will give you additional savings on clearance or sale items. Take the opportunity to ask about this use. Macy’s and JCPenny’s are two stores that I know offer these passes.

Shopping at the mall instead of just the big stores? Stop by the information desk in the mall and ask for coupons. They often offer coupons or a coupon book to many of the stores in the mall. They usually don’t advertise this service, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t take advantage of it.
