Do you decorate for Easter? Some do, some don’t, but here are a few easy ways to inject some spring color and bring in some fun items, even if you don’t go all out when it comes to decorating for holidays besides Christmas.
Easter Baskets
Most homes have at least a basket or two lying around somewhere. If so, grab one, and if not, pick one up at a discount or dollar store. You can find some nice looking ones, not just the plastic variety. Fill the basket with Easter grass or curling ribbon and some plastic eggs. The ones with the pearl finish are pretty for decorations, or you can paint plastic eggs with craft paint to make them more attractive.
A multicolor arrangement is nice, but a monochromatic color scheme is also pretty for this idea. A pale yellow basket with yellow Easter grass and pearly yellow eggs brightens up the kitchen table or the coffee table and only takes a minute or two to put together. Add some silk flowers if desired.
Also, party favors can be found in mini basket designs. These make a cute variation for place cards at the dinner table. Fill with ribbon and tiny treats. Attach a name card to a cocktail straw and insert the straw into the basket. You can also use upside down lollipops, with the candy end acting as an anchor to hold the name card in place.
Centerpieces
Place a pastel candle on a plate and surround it with artificial moss. Add a ceramic bunny and place a few tiny silk flowers on each side of him. Alternate miniature Easter eggs or foil-wrapped egg shaped candies with flowers all the way around the plate.
Place some Easter grass or artificial moss on a plate. Top it with an extra large plastic Easter egg. Open the egg and have goodies spilling out. Add some strings of curling ribbon and surround the egg with pretty silk flowers.
For a shimmering effect, paint the egg with metallic or glitter paint, or paint with a light coat of glue and roll in glitter. Use curled shiny silver or gold ribbons instead of moss, and choose several varieties of foil-wrapped candies in different shimmering colors.
