I’m sure that most of you are familiar with James C. Dobson, Ph.D. Dr. Dobson is the founder and chairman of Focus on the Family, a non-profit organization that produces his internationally syndicated radio programs, which are heard on nearly 3,500 radio stations in the U.S. and on more than 5,000 others in 163 countries.
You may know some of Dr. Dobson’s books. One I own was published in 2001 and is entitled “Bringing Up Boys,” subtitled “Practical advice and encouragement for those shaping the next generation of men.”
What I didn’t know until recently is that Focus on the Family’s web site, called simply family.org (http://www.family.org/) (not to be confused with Families.com!), has a number of very helpful resources for single parents.
Although I don’t have permission to post them here, I can describe the resources and provide you with links to them if you’d like to learn more.
First, there’s a section of the site that’s devoted entirely to the specific issues and needs of single parents. You can find it at this link:

Second, Focus on the Family magazine is published eight times a year and is available free in a special “single-parent version.” You can subscribe to the magazine here:

Third, at the family.org web site, one of the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) asks Dr. Dobson, “What encouragement can you offer to single parents?” His answer is at this link:
I was pleasantly surprised to find such supportive single parenting material and information at the family.org site. Take a look and see if there’s something there that will help you.
