Rocking Horse Ranch Resort is located in Highland, New York, about 90 minutes north of New York City. The 2010 weekend-long single parent camp takes place during mid-November, and starts at $615 (the cost of one adult and one child). The cost includes amenities and activities, including horseback riding, swimming, childcare, hayrides, talent shows, line dancing, bonfires, fitness center, and more.
New Jersey Y Camps offer two single parent camp weekends for Jewish families during the 2010 season. Each weekend costs $250 per adult, and there is no charge for children under the age of 18. If you have children younger than four, you can bring a babysitter free of charge as well. Camp activities include a Shabbat dinner, mountain biking, arts and crafts, swimming, boating, bonfire, teen lounge, yoga, and more.
Makemie Woods is located between Richmond and Williamsburg, Virginia. The camp hosts an annual single parent weekend, typically the weekend after Memorial Day. They offer activities, including swimming, crafts, boating, hiking, volleyball, movie nights, childcare for toddlers, bonfires, worship, and more. Some financial assistance is available to those who need it. Cost for the camp, including five meals, is $95 for one parent and one child. Each additional child over age two is $25.
Tilikum Center for Retreats and Outdoor Ministries
Tilikum Center for Retreats and Outdoor Ministries is located in Newberg, Oregon. They offer a Christian-based weekend single parent retreat each year. Activities, such as fishing, canoeing, campfires, hiking and swimming, are available, as well as meetings dealing specifically related to life of single parenthood. 2010 costs are $105 for adults and $65 for children.
