Single Parent Week in Review June 17th – 23rd

This last week, I covered a lot information about traveling as a single parent. I covered this, because I recently traveled with my son to visit my niece in Craig Hospital and spend some time with her there. This was the first time that I really traveled with my son since becoming a single parent. Most of what I covered were helpful hints of things to help you while you were traveling.

I covered ways to help ensure that their behavior remains in the acceptable range. In Single Parent Travels: Behavior Rewards I covered one way to do this is to reward their good behavior with things they enjoy. In Single Parent Travels: Removing Rewards I covered taking away those rewards if they didn’t continue to display acceptable behavior.

I also covered scheduling things while you are traveling that will help with your travels. In Single Parent Travels: Schedule Meals I covered why I needed to schedule the meals, and how I scheduled them into the day. I also covered scheduling playtime in Single Parent Travels: Schedule Playtime. Fitting some free, loud playtime into the day was a definite need for us. In Single Parent Travels: Schedule Sleep I covered the need for actually scheduling sleep, and how I went about getting my son to agree with and go along with it.

I was a little late in the game, but I also blogged about Single Parents and Father’s Day. “Fathers” aren’t the only ones that need to be celebrated on this day, but also those that willing take on the responsibility of being with and teaching the child/ren the things a father normally would.

Lastly, I covered an installment in changes as a single parent. In Changes: My Child First, I covered one of the many changes that becoming a single parent has brought about.
