As the end of the first week of our New Year approaches, New Year’s resolutions are in full swing! Most commonly people vow to lose weight and get into better shape during the New Year. With the first day of January comes hope and the thought that this is a new beginning. Toss the previous year’s failures to the wind and start forging ahead towards your renewed goals for the upcoming year.
Single parents find themselves making resolutions to get in shape as well but also for better time management. Frequently I will write on topics related to time management because I see this as a real struggle for single parents. Personally I am guiltily of always trying to be all things to all people and everywhere at once. Although I try it is difficult to give one-hundred-percent to everything and to everybody. It is so important to know when to give yourself a break and just do the best you can.
Finding time for Doctors visits is a great example of how difficult it can be to schedule something out of the norm. from your daily routine. After all the simple task of getting your child to the dentist requires coordination of your work schedule, the child’s school or daycare schedule and uses precious vacation or flex time. It is not easy. Finding ways to search for Doctors with more convenient evening or weekend hours is a great way to alleviate the stress that comes along with t his sort of task.
There are ways to make the most of your time and fit most everything in. In my upcoming articles I will discuss some of those. I will also discuss how you can achieve those New Years resolutions to get in shape in the comfort of your own home as a single parent.
