Six Months Post Partum

One year ago I was only fourteen weeks pregnant with my daughter (although I did not know I was pregnant with a girl). I was still wearing all of my pre pregnancy clothes and still in throngs of morning sickness. In a lot of ways I am in the same clothes wearing place now at six months post partum as I was a year ago.

At six months post partum, I feel completely back to my pre pregnancy state. All of my clothes fit almost the same as they did before. A few more stretch marks make my clothes fit a tiny bit different, although no one besides myself probably notices. My second pregnancy and early post partum phase seems like it happened a long time ago and not a mere six months.

Many things have happened in six short months. My body is back in shape, my muscles are nice and toned, and I have lost almost all the pregnancy weight (still working on losing the last five, very stubborn, pounds). I am no longer keeping a food journal but I am trying very hard not to eat past nine in the evening. I am still eating too many sweets (vicious cycle) but I am maintaining my healthful whole food diet otherwise. I am continuing to exercise five to seven times a week although my fifty minute workouts are often times cut down to thirty or forty minutes (summer is definitely here and we are spending a lot of time at the pool and going on other summery outings).

I am not sure how long the post partum phase lasts. I feel like it is going to continue until I start my cycles which will most likely be in a couple months. Until then, I am going to enjoy my last few months of being post partum!
