It’s time for our six on Sunday and it’s a list of six tips to help you improve your daily options for fitness whether you are work out of the office or out of the home. The following six tips are designed to be useful for finding more ways to fit your exercise into a busy daily life. While they will not substitute for regular exercise, they can help you achieve your overall fitness goals.
- Keep a pair of running shoes or walking shoes in your car at all time. That way you can put them on whenever you are running errands or have fifteen to thirty minutes to do a walk around the block
- Park further out from every store you go to and if the stores are clustered in an area, walk from store to store rather than driving
- Never use the drive-thru, park the car and get out to go inside and get what you need
- School close to the house? If it’s less than a mile, walk your kids to and from school – save the car for really bad weather
- Do baby push ups – playing with an infant and toddler can be a great workout – push your baby up over your head five or six times every hour or two – it’s a great way to work out your upper arms (biceps) and shoulders
- Lay down on the floor with your baby and do stretches while playing with them, you can lay down, sit and other wise interact with them, but use the time to flex your legs, your back and your arm – deep stretches are easy to perform while playing with your kiddo
