Sneaky Ideas to Save Money on Your Wedding

save money wedding How can you save money on your wedding without making it look like you are saving money on your wedding? With some sneaky ideas of course!

Tone Down the Rehearsal Dinner

While you should probably feed the people who attend your wedding rehearsal the day before, going over the top with the rehearsal dinner is a relatively new idea. Having a quite dinner at home is cost effective, quaint and can be very elegant. Make some dishes in the weeks ahead of time and freeze them, so you don’t have to worry about putting extra work in during an already busy time. Alternatively, have the rehearsal dinner catered at home. You’ll still save a ton of money while having an elegant dinner.

Shorten the Planning Time

If you can plan your wedding in a short time line, you will save quite a bit of money. There are two reasons for this. First, last minute bargains will lower your overall cost. Second, the short time line will force you to stream line your wedding, so you will include only what is really important to you and avoid overpriced frills that you don’t really need or want.

Don’t Choose a Saturday

Saturdays are the most popular days for weddings. Instead, shave at least 30 percent off of your wedding without sacrificing food, flowers, etc., when you choose another day. Friday or Sundays are still accommodating to your guests, but will cost you less. You can also save money by choosing an off peak month, January through March (but avoid Valentine’s day.

Choose an Off-Beat Location

Why not have your wedding at a zoo, a public garden, a museum or some other interesting venue that isn’t the dedicated reception hall. You’ll save money and have a wedding to remember. How clever! Just make sure that you include the cost of any tables and chairs that you might have to rent.
