Ta-ta toddler time-outs.
The queen of the “naughty step,” is stepping down from her primetime post.
Jo Frost a.k.a. “Supernanny” tells the New York Post that she is calling it quits after the current season of her hit TV show wraps up on ABC this winter.
The reason: Apparently, the British child whisperer/TV star wants to move on from putting other people’s kids in time-out and start putting her own children there.
Yes, Supernanny wants to be Supermommy.
Only she’ll have to move out of her dad’s home first.
“I have decided to hang up my cape,” Frost tells The Post. “It was a very conscious decision, through much reflection. But I need to create more balance in my life.”
The reality TV superstar is 39 years old and as she puts it “not getting any younger.” What’s more, Frost reveals that she has been living out of a suitcase since she started her series nearly six years ago.
All that traveling is not conducive to finding a man to procreate with, so Frost says she ready to pull the plug on her toddler taming days.
Having children “is not an option when you are traveling and working 46 weeks out of the year,” says Frost, who is single and looking.
“Proper balance will allow me to date and have a relationship and look at my own future of having a family.”
After helping more than 115 families bring order and discipline to their out-of-control households Frost says she is looking forward to starting her own clan.
“I am definitely excited about dating and being in a committed relationship. That is all exciting stuff for me around the corner.”
As for putting the brakes on her superstardom, Frost says she will continue to write books on how to be a better parent. She’s already penned three bestsellers and her fourth book focusing on toddlers is due out next year.
“I am passionate about my work,” Frost tells The Post. And that won’t change, even with the end of “Supernanny.”
“I don’t think you will be seeing less of me,” she says. “I just think it will be a different way that you see me.”
I can see it now: Once Supernanny becomes Supermommy the TV cameras will be back in her face documenting every move she makes for a new reality series.
I’m just sayin’.
