Soap Star’s Son Dies

Actress Hunter Tylo’s 19-year-old son has died.

Tylo, who has been a cast member of CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” on and off for more than 15 years is reportedly inconsolable.

Who can blame her?

According to police reports, Michael Tylo, Jr. drowned in a pool at a residence in Nevada late Thursday night. Officers say an unidentified family member discovered Michael’s body. In addition, the coroner has determined the teen’s death was an accident. Preliminary reports say it appears Michael fell in the pool after experiencing a seizure. The report also says Tylo’s son did suffer from a seizure disorder.

The County Corner in Henderson, Nevada told news reporters that he does plan to release a toxicology report, but the results of the tests won’t be available for several weeks. Regardless, the corner says a cause of death has already been established.

“With a medical condition, it appears pretty evident that this is reason for him falling in the pool,” the corner told reporters.

As for how Michael’s mom is holding up a rep for “The Bold and the Beautiful” released a statement that read: “Hunter is not commenting at this time. But I can confirm that her son Michael, who is 19, died yesterday in Henderson, Nevada.”

Can you imagine what that poor woman must be dealing with?

I read some reports that suggested Tylo will “get through this trying time just fine” because she has dealt with difficult family matters in the past. I’m sure those reports were referring to Tylo’s daughter Katya who as an infant was diagnosed with a rare cancer of the eye called retinoblastoma. In 1998, when Katya was still a baby, doctors removed her eye and began chemotherapy. Now, almost 10 years later Katya is cancer free and wears a prosthetic right eye.

However, to say just because Tylo has dealt with prior challenges that she will be okay dealing with her son’s death, I think, is irresponsible–especially if you have never lost a child before.

At the time of Katya’s health problems the actress reportedly told Soap Opera Digest that she relied on the power of prayer for strength. With her son’s death Tylo’s life has changed forever. I can only hope that she is able to receive the same solace from her prayer life that she has in the past.
