Something for Everyone in Your Yard Sale

yard sale Do you want to boost your yard sales? Make sure that you have something for everyone in the family. This will ensure that your yard sale is the one that customers can’t wait to shop.

So many time, you will see yard sale ads that mention that there is something for everyone, but when you get there, that just isn’t the case. Make sure that you have a wide variety of items and then advertise that fact with details about particular groups of items.

For example, women tend to look for decorative items, children’s clothing and furniture. Men tend to look for tools, electronics, collectors items and outdoor items. Kids want toys, video games, puzzles, etc.

If your yard sale is lacking in a certain area, it might make sense to team up with friends, relatives or neighbors who may have those items. For example, you might have plenty of baby clothes but no electronics. Multiple family sales attract more customers, anyway.

Once you really do have something for everyone in your yard sale, make sure that it is organized and displayed well at the sale. Group like with like, so your customers won’t get frustrated with having to hunt through the sale for items that they want. They can go straight to the areas of their interest and snatch up everything they like.

Take some tips from retail stores with your displays. Place the toys near the items that their parents want to look at. The kids will be occupied while mom or dad shops, and you may make a couple of add on sales as well.

Many people take their dogs along to sales, so have a pet friendly area that might include some shade and bowls of water. Your customers will be able to linger a little longer and may be happy to make a few purchases.

With something for everyone, you can boost your yard sale haul.
