The Coffee Klatch released an episode on July 10, 2012. This episode is called “Anthony Petrucci Filmmaker- Mina Martin”. This episode discusses a film called “Mina Martin” that was created by filmmaker Anthony Petrucci. The film is about school violence and the bullying epidemic. As you may already know, kids who have special needs are more likely to become the victims of a bully than are their peers who have no special needs.
The Coffee Klatch released another episode on July 15, 2012. This episode is called “The Best of Coffee Klatch – Focus Foundation – Dyslexia”. This episode notes that children with X & Y Variations are at an increased incidence of having Developmental Dyspraxia and Dyslexia. The episode talks about the Focus Foundation, which can help kids who have those disorders.
Need Project released an episode on July 14, 2012. This episode is called “HorsePower Therapeutic Riding Center with Mark Renn”. This episode is about Colorado HorsePower, which is a non-profit organization that provides equine therapy and teaches horsemanship to individuals with special needs.
Hope Saves the Day released an episode on July 10, 2012. This is episode number 125, and it is called “Interview with Dr. Stephen Shore” The episode features an interview with Dr. Stephen Shore, who was diagnosed with “Atypical Development and strong autistic tendencies” as a child. He is now a professor at Adelphi University, and his research focuses on matching best practice to the needs of people with autism.
NPR released an episode of “Talk of the Nation” on July 3, 2012. This episode is called “’Monkey Mind’: When Debilitating Anxiety Takes Over”. It features an interview with Daniel Smith, author of “Monkey Mind: A Memoir of Anxiety”. The book documents his experiences with severe anxiety that includes panic attacks, and how he has learned to live with it.
