The Coffee Klatch released a new episode on June 10, 2012. This episode is called “Best of Coffee Klatch – Dr Allen Frances – The DSMV”. This episode features Dr. Allen Frances. He is the Chair of the DSM-IV Task Force. He returns to the Coffee Klatch to talk about concerns over the soon to be released DSMV. There has been a lot of controversy over some of the changes regarding Asperger’s Syndrome and how it is being folded into the autism spectrum disorder diagnosis.

Special Chronicles released an episode on June 10, 2012. This episode is called “SCP39: SO Summer Games Informational” In this episode, host Dan talks about the 2012 Summer Games for Special Olympics Illinois. He discusses the different sports that are a part of the Summer Games, and about what happens at the Games.

The episode features an interview with Marglit Francus. She, and her husband, have two teenage sons, one of whom is on the autism spectrum. In 2009, she created a non-profit website called Autistic Globetrotting. The website is to inspire and encourage autistic families to explore the world.

NPR released an episode of “Morning Edition” on June 4, 2012. This episode is called “What’s Different About the Brains Of People With Autism?” This episode features Jeff Hudale, who has autism. He has spent the past 25 years as a research subject in order to help scientists understand autism.

NPR has an episode of “Morning Edition” that was released on June 11, 2012. This episode is called “To Sniff Out Childhood Allergies, Researchers Head To The Farm”. This episode is focused on how researchers are trying to understand why allergies are on the rise today, especially in children. They are looking at kids who live on farms because the researchers think that early exposure to allergens helps a child’s immune system to avoid having allergic reactions.

NPR released an episode of “Talk of the Nation” on June 11, 2012. The episode is called “Op-Ed: Eugenics Specter Hangs Over DNA Sequencing”. In this episode, host Neal Conan points out that researchers have mapped the entire genome of a fetus using a blood sample of the mother and a saliva sample from the father. He speaks with guest Ralph Douthat, who is a New York Times columnist. Could this DNA test result in eugenics? Would parents choose to abort children who had disabilities or special needs?
