Obama or Romney?
The wrong pick could score you a major travel prize.
Yes, the wrong pick.
JetBlue is giving you a chance to win a free round-trip flight if you incorrectly choose the winner of next month’s presidential election.
In one of the cleverest marketing lines ever, JetBlue is giving voting Americans “the chance to make good on threats to leave the country if the other guy wins.”
The discount carrier recently announced that it will award 2012 seats, or 1,006 round-trip flights, to customers who fail to correctly call the race between President Barack Obama and Republican nominee Mitt Romney.
Consider it one heck of a consolation prize
JetBlue’s “Election Protection” link allows you to select your choice for President, and if your candidate loses you will be entered to win a temporary escape outside the U.S. to destinations including Mexico and the Caribbean.
The winner scores a free flight, but must cough up his or her own money to cover fees and hotel costs.
If politics is not your thing, but you still want to save on a memorable vacation, then hit the high seas.
Royal Caribbean just announced it plans to kick-off another three-day promotion on Monday, October 15th. The cruise company’s “Wow Sale,” features an on-board credit of up to $200 per cabin to customers who book a 2013 or 2014 voyage.
If you take advantage of the sale you will receive $50 in on-board credit when booking a three- to five-night itinerary; $100 for six- to nine-night itineraries; and $200 for itineraries of 10 nights or longer. In addition, Royal Caribbean is reducing the amount of the cabin deposit by 50 percent.
Catches to consider: The offer is available only to residents of North America and applies to new individual bookings. The promotion is not applicable to groups. Finally, reservations must be made and deposits paid by October 17th.
