Washington is a beautiful state, perfect for families looking for outdoor activity. We visited the Olympic Peninsula a few years ago and the kids and adults both had an incredible time. We four a place called Beaver’s Pond Retreat, a magnificent place with all different types of cabins. The one I wanted to stay in was called Morgan’s House and the Master’s Suite, which featured a private hot tub, fire pit, and gorgeous fireplace but unfortunately, it was not the one we chose.
However, I did find another cottage known as Julianna’s, which also had a fireplace and hot tub. This particular cabin was so incredible, overlooking the pond. This cabin is fully furnished with cedar furnishings and all the necessities of home. Although considered a little upscale, my kids and I had not been on vacation for years so we felt we owed ourselves something special.
I remember in the afternoon, we would walk down along the water’s edge where we saw all types of wildlife to include heron, geese, and more. Of course, my kid’s favorite part of the trip was spending time fishing. We would sit down by the water early in the morning while fishing for Cutthroat Trout. The best part was bringing the fish back and having our own fish fry on the open fire pit. When tired of fishing, there was plenty of time to row around the pond, just enjoying the time spent outside.
Beaver’s Pond is located on 30 acres of rugged, adventurous land. In fact, this area offers more than 600 miles of biking and hiking trails, kayaking, fly-fishing, and tons more. You can even visit rainforests, waterfalls, and clean ocean beaches while in the area. I wanted a place where my kids could kick back and just be kids while I felt as if I were being pampered. With Beaver’s Pond, I got the best of both worlds and you can be sure we will return.
