Spending Time With My Sister Part IV

It is amazing how time gets away from us. We made a really quick stop at the grocery store; both my sister and I have very quick gaits and we were moving through the store to get the items that we needed. Upon our return, we realized that we really did not have very much time to make the frosting and eat dinner. As soon as we walked in the apartment I got to work making the cream cheese frosting and my sister nursed the baby. After the muffins were iced, we rushed to eat as much of our dinner as we possibly could before we headed out the door again. My son stayed with my brother-in-law (his uncle obviously), and the baby come with us (nursing babies are invited too). Driving across town to the location of the craft night was probably a good fifteen minutes away, but the traffic was super busy and it took us forty-five minutes to reach our destination for some fun crafts. When we finally arrived, we got everything together including the baby in her sling and the frosted muffins and headed into the hostess’ home; she was in the middle of demonstrating what we would be making. There were a lot more ladies present than I had anticipated and the small living room was quite crowded. A very generous young lady gave up her chair so that I (the pregnant lady) could sit down. As I listened to the second part of the demonstration, I began to feel extremely overwhelmed; how am I ever going to make a hair bow/bow tie? Luckily my sister and I both have a little experience sewing and after some quick instructions, we were on our way to making our own identical bows (one is traded so that all the guests have two different bows at the end of the night). Aside from the standing and waiting to use a sewing machine, the actual sewing went quickly. While we waited for a sewing machine, we chatted with the other ladies (most were mommies and several were also expecting) and nibbled on snacks (the pumpkin bread with chocolate chips was divine!). By the end of the event both my sister and I had made two bows and had quite a bit of fun talking with the other ladies, but our evening was not over yet. We still had to make a run to the market (that was closing in thirty minutes) for buy one, get one take and bake pizzas. We made it just in time and luckily for us there were exactly the number of pizzas we needed left!
