Confession: I just finished printing out all the photos I snapped on Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
Sure, Easter is right around the corner, but that’s how I roll these days.
Typically, I let my pictures sit in my camera until I have a need to print them out. And by need I mean receiving a phone call from my mom (who happens to live 5,000 miles away) asking for pictures of her one and only granddaughter.
With that kind of guilt motivating me, I was not only inspired to print out my holiday photos, but I also used them to create a number of projects that showed off my picture-taking skills.
I say that in jest because the projects I am about to share with you are perfect for pictures that may not showcase your camera skills at their best. Being able to cut-off distracting backgrounds or camouflage them with other embellishments will hopefully inspire you to get creative with your less than perfect photos.
Shadow Box: Simply adhere a series of photographs with a common theme collage-style to the back panel of a shadow box frame with acid-free glue. Use additional glue or pushpins to add fun mementos that coordinate with the images you selected. For example, if you are doing an Easter-themed shadow box, add some plastic grass, a ticket to the local Easter egg hunt or a lucky rabbit’s foot.
Photo Vase: Gather photos taken at the same event or holiday. Trim the pictures to a desired size and glue them to a square-shaped vase, making sure you do not leave any visible spaces between the photos. Once the entire surface of the vase is covered, cut a piece of ribbon that’s long enough to wrap around the top of the vase. Then, attach the ribbon with hot glue. You could add another piece of ribbon to the bottom of the vase as well.
