When it comes to scrapbooking I’m all about the stickers. In fact, I could probably design an entire memory book with just photos and stickers and not be the least bit dissatisfied with my efforts.
Throw in a few die cuts and we’re really talking masterpiece, but when times are tight, I’m 100 percent stickers. After all, you can beat the convenience offered by scrapbook stickers. Just peel and stick.
What’s more, stickers are relatively inexpensive and they come in a variety of shapes, colors, patterns, textures and designs. Still, there are some scrappers who feel strongly about not using a ton of stickers in their layouts, as they feel the simple embellishments cramp creativity. To those scrappers I offer up custom stickers.
Trust me; you can’t get much more personalized than a custom sticker. Since you are in charge of designing the sticker, there’s no way to stifle your creativity. In addition, custom stickers are a saving grace when you’ve hunted high and low for a certain design to no avail. I remember trying to put together a layout for my daughter’s monkey-themed birthday and ripping my hair out trying to track down sticker packets that featured just monkeys. All I could find were ones that included one or two monkeys per pack with a bunch of other zoo and jungle animals I had no need for.
The downside to custom stickers is price. I have a friend who paid a pretty penny to get custom Harley-Davidson stickers to use in a motorcycle layout. OF course, if you have a high quality inkjet printer, you can make your own stickers. You just need to purchase adhesive-backed paper and download the image you want to make into a sticker.
Are you a fan of custom stickers? What are your favorite designs?
